Worldbuilding Diary: Gangs of Elderhearth

-Worldbuilding Diary-   The Patronage Laws 1. One fourth of everything that is earned is the share of the Patron, and it will go to him as monthly tribute – for membership, upkeep and necessities 2. The Proteges will never cross the path of those from the Noble level and anyone in their direct employ. 3. The Proteges are forbidden from killing members of the Law, but if a Protege must defend oneself, then a Protege can fight – but not to kill, only to escape. 4. The Proteges are to not touch the members of the Law; do not steal from them, do not hurt them, do not be friends with them. The Law is to be bribed and exploited – not befriended. The Law is the enemy. 5. If a Protege is caught by the Law, then the Patronate will not act. Proteges who cannot escape the Law of Elderhearth shall be faced with the consequences of their carelesness – and learn their lesson. 6. Protege will not kill Protege; if there is Vengeance or a Blood Feud – it will be handled in front of the Blind Counci...

Worldbuilding Diary: Hunters and Crystals

-Worldbuilding Diary-   The Crystal Issue The issue of aberrations and anomalies is a complex one, in the broader image of Ardum. Why? Because, not all Continents are equally equipped to deal with the threats posed by wild surges of magical energies.  Pelaraam recruits their order of Hunters, men and women specially trained and tasked with stopping anomalies and aberrations - and retrieving Cracked Crystals that caused them. The retrieved Crystals are stored in special containers laced with a Crystallum inside that has Containment Command Words etched in its surface, thus - once a Cracked Crystal is placed within the Containment Unit (CCU), the radioactive, malicious magical energies stop radiating and affecting their surroundings.  Afterwards, the CCU is delivered to a Hunter HQ, where the already full CCUs are stored in the Crystal Storage Boxes (CSB) - that are fairly large containers that have a second layer of Crystallum Containment protection inside of them, prevent...

Worldbuilding Diary: Selmani Religion

- Worldbuilding Diary-   The Selmani Religion ( Ruhid ; The Unification of the Soul)  The Selmani’s believe in the Oneness. Their religion is strictly monotheistic without any embellishments. There is one God and he is the creator of the world and everything in it. They are a religion of peace and unity.  Ruhid has two central teachings: Ilkenar or The Principle; this teaching is focused on the rules and guidelines within the religion and is where the Doctrine of Ruhid comes from Taqwar or The Devotion; this teaching is focused on the spiritual part of Ruhid. This is a more abstract, more pious form of Ruhid, where people who focus on Taqwar are those who are dervishes and spiritual leaders and such.  Ilkenar is the physical component of Ruhid, Taqwar is the spiritual component of Ruhid. Within Ilkenar, there are many sub-categories, mainly focused on laws and regulations of different matters, and it is where the Davaria originates from. Davaria is the Law of Ruhid ...

Worldbuiliding Diary: Sredinah Empire

-Worldbuilding Diary-   The Rise of the Sredinah Empire The earliest days of the Sredinah Empire date back to a thousand years after the Fall of the Empire of Dawn (FED). The Continent of Pelaraam had been getting back up on its feet, after the unknown event that had destroyed the capital of the Empire of Dawn, fragmenting the Empire into numerous smaller states. The period after the Fall was reminiscent of the Age of War Neverending. Alliances were formed as quickly as they fell apart, as Pelaraam descended into war once again.  In the one thousand years after the Fall, the seeds for many of the Countries we know of today were planted. The Aforiana Empire had absorbed the country of Konqia in the West, and a new Kingdom had formed in the South, Elderguard. The area of the Selman Sultanate had been split into three countries. In the North, the Kingdom of Siewerskai had begun its slow conquest of the Northern Tribes.  Between those rising powers, the Central and Eastern pa...

A General's Biography

Image
THE TALE OF SREDINUS VILARI Born in the Sredinah Capital, son of a famed tactician who, when Sredinus was 5 years old, fell from grace due to one of his tactics going very wrong. He was dishonourably discharged and shunned publicly This made life for young Sredinus tough, as his mother died of cancer two years later and he was left with his depressed father, who was slowly giving himself to alcohol. Sredinus didn't like when his father drank, but there was a silver lining - when he wasn't sleeping and going on his drinking spree, his father would spend his waking moments telling Sredinus stories about the military, teaching him strategy and telling him about all the different heroes of Sredinah. This made Sredinus decide: he will become a general when he grows up and restore honour to his family name. But they were poor, and his name was looked down upon so there was no way that he could enrol in any of the military schools, and a officer career path was almost imposs...
